Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has denied reports suggesting that he could participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL), dismissing the speculation circulating in Indian media.

Reports had recently suggested that Amir might be eligible to play in the IPL as a British citizen, prompting speculation about his possible involvement in the tournament.

The former pacer addressed the reports in a post on social media platform X, making it clear that the claims were inaccurate.

“I just want to clarify that the news circulating about the IPL is not true,” Amir wrote.

Amir became a British citizen after obtaining a British passport in May this year. He recently registered for the Afghanistan Premier League as a British citizen, a development that further fuelled speculation about his potential participation in the IPL.

However, his latest statement has dismissed the reports of an IPL appearance.
