MUMBAI: Mirzapur: The Movie has made a strong start at the box office, crossing the Rs2 billion mark in worldwide gross collections within its first week, according to Indian media and trade reports.
Starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu Sharma, the gangster drama was released on September 4 and has recorded strong collections in both domestic and overseas markets.
Film Nears Rs1.5 Billion Net in India
According to trade website Sacnilk, Mirzapur: The Movie earned Rs105.5 million from 10,379 shows across India on its seventh day.
The figure took the film’s cumulative domestic net collection to approximately Rs1.4845 billion. The film is expected to cross the Rs1.5 billion mark in India based on the reported pace of its collections.
The movie has also performed strongly in overseas markets, where it has reportedly collected around Rs355 million so far.
Its reported domestic gross collection stands at approximately Rs1.7694 billion. Combined with the overseas earnings, the film’s worldwide gross collection has reached around Rs2.1244 billion.
Among 2026’s Top Bollywood Grossers
With its reported box-office performance, Mirzapur: The Movie has become the fifth-highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2026 so far, according to the cited trade figures.
Directed by Gurmeet Singh, the film features Ravi Kishan, Jitendra Kumar, Rasika Dugal, Sheeba Chaddha, Abhishek Banerjee, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in key roles.
Based on Popular ‘Mirzapur’ Series
The film has been produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banners of Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment.
Mirzapur: The Movie is based on the popular Mirzapur streaming series, which has released three seasons so far. Work on a fourth season is reportedly underway.
