Mirpur, Azad Kashmir: A memorial event marking the first death anniversary of Haji Rana Fazal Hussain (Tamgha-e-Pakistan), a veteran of the Kashmir freedom movement, a pioneer of the Gujari language, and a renowned poet, was held at a local hotel in Mirpur. The event was presided over by Chaudhry Abdul Aziz, former Minister for Law, Azad Kashmir.
Distinguished guests included Sardar Muhammad Yousuf Khan, former Federal Minister for Religious Affairs of Pakistan; former Chief Justice of Azad Kashmir, Muhammad Azam Khan; Speaker of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Latif Akbar; Minister of Azad Kashmir Government, Chaudhry Rashid; former Chief Justice of Azad Kashmir, Muhammad Ibrahim Zia; and former Minister of the Azad Kashmir Government, Syed Shaukat Shah.
The event was hosted by retired Secretary Chaudhry Munir Hussain and Rana Ghulam Sarwar. The stage secretary was Shakeel Mahmood from Radio Pakistan.
During the ceremony, speakers paid glowing tributes to the late Haji Rana Fazal Hussain, recognizing his invaluable services and dedication to the Kashmir freedom movement. A documentary film highlighting his life and contributions was also presented.
Among the notable attendees were former DIG Chaudhry Arif, former DG MDA Ejaz Raza, former DG Health Chaudhry Bashir, former SC retired Chaudhry Hanif, Professor Sarfaraz, District Qazi Ghulam Mustafa, former Chairman of Municipality Chaudhry Shaukat, former Advocate General Muzaffar Ali Zafar, and various other prominent figures from social, political, and legal circles of the city.
The event concluded with prayers for the departed soul and a renewed commitment to continuing his legacy in the struggle for the Kashmir cause.
