Pakistani actress Meera’s domestic worker has withdrawn her earlier allegations of violence, saying that a previous statement circulating on social media was prepared with the help of artificial intelligence and that the accusations against the actress were not accurate.
The development follows the circulation of CCTV footage that allegedly showed an argument between Meera and the domestic worker, identified as Yasmin, escalating into a physical confrontation. The video sparked discussion on social media and prompted conflicting statements from the worker.
Domestic worker initially alleged violence
After the CCTV footage began circulating, Yasmin released a statement claiming that she had suffered injuries to her face and other parts of her body as a result of the alleged incident.
In her initial account, she also alleged that Meera was not mentally well and called for action against the actress over the alleged violence.
Yasmin later changes her account
A subsequent video featuring Yasmin presented a different account of the incident. She said her earlier statement had been generated with the assistance of AI and maintained that the allegations made against Meera were not true.
Yasmin also said that Meera treats her well and that she continues to work at the actress’s home.
The conflicting statements have raised questions on social media about the circumstances surrounding the incident. The available reports, however, do not independently establish what occurred during the alleged confrontation.
Meera has faced controversies before
Meera has remained a prominent figure in Pakistan’s entertainment industry and has previously been involved in public controversies. Her name has also surfaced in earlier allegations involving alleged mistreatment of a makeup artist.
The latest incident has drawn renewed attention after the circulation of the CCTV footage and the domestic worker’s two differing accounts.
