Actress Meera Appeals for UK Visa to Visit Ailing Sister in London

LAHORE: Pakistani actress Meera has appealed to the British Embassy in London and relevant Pakistani authorities to issue her a visa on humanitarian grounds so she can visit her critically ill sister in London.

In a video statement, Meera said she is currently in New York and wants to travel to London to see her sister, Shaista Abbas, whom she said is suffering from cancer at an advanced stage.

“I appeal to the London Embassy and Pakistani authorities to issue me a visa so I can visit my sister,” Meera said in her video message.

She said her mother, Shafqat Begum, and brother, Syed Hussain Abbas, are currently in London with Shaista.

Meera urged the authorities to consider her request on humanitarian grounds, saying she wants to be with her sister during what she described as a critical period.

The actress did not provide further details about the visa application or whether any decision had been made by the British authorities.
