ISLAMABAD: Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has directed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to investigate complaints of irregularities in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) results in Sindh.

The minister has written to the PMDC president, directing the council to conduct a detailed centre-wise analysis of the results, including the number of candidates, marks obtained, pass rates and unusually high scores.

The health ministry has also asked PMDC to examine significant or unusual variations in results between different examination centres.

According to the directive, attendance sheets, seating plans, examination-centre records and result data should be reviewed as part of the inquiry.

The minister further ordered an examination of invigilation arrangements and available digital records. The investigation will also look into allegations of malpractice, unauthorised assistance, impersonation and paper leaks.

PMDC has been directed to determine whether there were any violations of examination procedures, technical problems or administrative negligence during the test or preparation of the results.

The council has also been asked to obtain relevant reports and records concerning the conduct of the examination and compilation of MDCAT results.

If any irregularities or malpractice are found to have affected the examination results, those responsible will be identified, according to the ministry.

PMDC has been directed to complete the investigation and submit its report to the Ministry of Health within 15 days.
