RAWALPINDI: A married woman died in a suspected suicide incident in the jurisdiction of RA Bazaar Police Station, officials said on Thursday.

The incident occurred in Mohalla Kashmirian, Adiala, after which the woman’s husband informed police. A team reached the scene and began collecting evidence.

According to the husband’s initial statement, the couple had been married for four years. He told police that his wife went into the bathroom and allegedly took her own life using a firearm.

Police said forensic evidence was being collected from the scene, while the exact circumstances surrounding the death would be determined through the post-mortem examination and further investigation.

Authorities said no final conclusion would be drawn until the medical and forensic findings were received.
