Veteran Pakistani actor Marina Khan has shared why she decided to embrace her natural gray hair instead of coloring it, saying the choice was inspired by a childhood memory of her mother.
In a recent interview, Marina said she has always admired the confidence with which her mother carried her natural appearance. That early experience influenced her decision to accept aging naturally rather than hide it.
Childhood memory shaped her decision
Marina recalled attending a gathering as a child where she was able to spot her mother from a distance because she was the only woman with gray hair.
She said that moment stayed with her over the years and inspired her to keep her own gray hair as she grew older.
Prefers a natural look
The actor said she never enjoyed the idea of repeatedly coloring her hair, noting that once people begin dyeing it, they often have to continue with regular touch-ups.
Marina added that she has always enjoyed experimenting with different hairstyles and has never been afraid to change her appearance.
A humorous encounter
Sharing a light-hearted story, Marina recalled visiting a market in Karachi where a child mistakenly called out to her, thinking she was his mother.
She said the child quickly realized the mistake, apologized, and addressed her as “Aunty,” a moment she still finds amusing.
