Mardan Observes World Population Day with Awareness programme

The District Population Welfare Office in Mardan observed World Population Day by organizing an awareness programme and public rally to promote population stabilization, responsible parenthood, family planning, and maternal and child health.

The event brought together government officials, health professionals, civil society representatives, media personnel, and members of the public. Organizers said the initiative aimed to raise awareness about population-related challenges and encourage informed decisions on family planning and healthy birth spacing.

Awareness Session Highlights Population Challenges

During the programme, participants were briefed on the importance of World Population Day and the need to address population growth through responsible population management, reproductive health services, and community awareness.

Officials also highlighted the “Tawazun” Narrative, which promotes balanced population growth and sustainable development.

Rally Promotes Public Awareness

Following the awareness session, participants took part in a rally through Mardan, carrying banners and placards highlighting the importance of family planning, reproductive health, maternal and child health, and sustainable population management.

The rally aimed to increase public awareness, encourage community participation, and support the government’s efforts to achieve population stabilization and harness the country’s demographic dividend.

Stakeholders Reaffirm Commitment

The programme concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to strengthening collaboration, expanding awareness campaigns, improving access to family planning services, and supporting Pakistan’s long-term socio-economic development through responsible population management.
