MARDAN: A division-level Hussan-e-Qirat competition was held in Mardan under the Rahmat-ul-Lil-Alameen ﷺ Conference in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, with participants from Mardan and Swabi taking part.

The competition was held under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner Mardan Eid Nawaz and Secretary to Commissioner Mardan Division Fazal Wahid Khan. Religious scholars from Mardan and Swabi served as judges and evaluated participants on Quran recitation, pronunciation, Tajweed and style.

Top Three Reciters Selected

The top three position holders will be forwarded to Peshawar to participate in the provincial-level Hussan-e-Qirat competition, where they will represent Mardan Division.

Speakers at the event said promoting the Seerat-e-Tayyaba, teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ and love for the Holy Quran were among the key objectives of the Rahmat-ul-Lil-Alameen ﷺ Conference.

They said Quran recitation competitions can help encourage younger people to develop an interest in Quranic recitation, Tajweed and Islamic teachings while strengthening their connection with Islamic values and traditions.

The speakers added that the government was taking measures to engage the younger generation with religious and cultural traditions while providing opportunities to develop and demonstrate their abilities through meaningful programmes.
