RAWALPINDI: The funeral prayer of Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom while fighting Fitna al Khwarij in Khar area of Bajaur District, was offered at Peshawar Garrison on Sunday, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Senior Civil and Military Leadership Attend Funeral
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, attended the funeral prayer along with the Federal Interior Minister, Commander Peshawar Corps, senior military officers, civil officials, and members of the public.
COAS Pays Tribute to Martyr’s Supreme Sacrifice
Paying rich tribute, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said the martyrs of the Pakistan Army are the pride of the nation and their sacrifices will always be remembered. He prayed for the elevation of Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed’s ranks in Jannah and for patience and strength for the bereaved family.
Shaheed Embraced Martyrdom Leading from the Front
According to ISPR, Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed laid down his life in the line of duty while leading from the front during an operation against terrorists. The Pakistan Armed Forces reiterated their unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country, stating that such sacrifices further strengthen national determination.
The martyr will be laid to rest with full military honours in his native town of Dera Ismail Khan.
COAS Visits Injured Soldiers at CMH Peshawar
Later, the Chief of Army Staff visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar to inquire about the health of officers and soldiers injured during the operation. He lauded their courage, resilience, and steadfast commitment to duty.
