Dhudial: The allegation of firing made by Ghazala Safdar, District Vice President of the Women’s Wing Chakwal, is nothing but a pack of lies and a cheap tactic to gain publicity. It is highly condemnable and an attempt to tarnish our political reputation.
According to the written statement of Mahr Hamza Safdar, a resident of Neelah, we have an ongoing dispute with Chaudhry Maqsood of our town. On March 31, 2021, an exchange of gunfire took place between both groups, resulting in one person’s death and injuries to some others. On February 4, the High Court ruled on our appeal, acquitting me and my brother Mahr Umar Safdar with honor, while the death sentences of the other two accused individuals were commuted to life imprisonment.
Following this verdict, our opposing party fired shots. Our women called the police helpline (15), and the police arrived at the scene promptly. However, as usual, Ghazala Safdar unnecessarily jumped in, dramatically claiming that she was fired upon. In reality, we have no knowledge of who fired the shots.
Mahr Hamza Safdar stated that they have no connection with this woman, who is merely seeking cheap fame and trying to exploit the situation politically to impress her party leadership. He further claimed that the said woman is a habitual complainant and is herself named in multiple FIRs, while her brothers are fugitives.
Mahr Hamza Safdar has appealed to RPO Rawalpindi and District Police Officer Chakwal, Ahmad Mohiuddin, to protect them from this so-called leader, who is falsely implicating them in baseless and fabricated cases.
