LAHORE: Former all-rounder Azhar Mahmood was announced on Sunday after being appointed as Pakistan’s assistant coach in all formats of the game.
Mahmoud recently became the head coach of the men’s national team in their home T20I series against New Zealand.
The 49-year-old is looking forward to working with Gary Kirsten, head coach of white-ball cricket, and Jason Gillespie, who will coach Test cricket.
“It is a privilege and an honor to be appointed Assistant Head Coach in all formats, and it gives me the opportunity to once again serve our country,” Mahmood had tweeted earlier.
I strongly believe that patience, confidence and discipline are the keys to the development of the team.
It should be noted that the Pakistan team will play three games against Ireland and four against England at home in May.
The Babar Azam-led Pakistan team will travel to Ireland on May 7.
