Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit is making her return to television as a host after 24 years, taking charge of the Marathi version of the popular quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.
Madhuri Dixit has announced her return to television hosting with ‘Kon Honar Crorepati’, the Marathi adaptation of the popular quiz show format. The first promotional video featuring the actress has already been released and received an enthusiastic response from fans.
In the promo, Madhuri introduces the show in Marathi while dressed in a traditional Maharashtrian look. Wearing a green and gold sari with traditional jewellery and a Maharashtrian-style nose ring, the actress appears in a distinctive ethnic avatar.
Addressing viewers in Marathi, Madhuri says that something that has never happened before is now about to happen, signalling a new chapter for the popular quiz show and inviting audiences to take part.
Madhuri also shared the promo on Instagram, expressing her excitement about taking on the new role. She described hosting ‘Kon Honar Crorepati’ as a special new chapter in her life and said she was excited to begin the journey.
The actress said the game show revolves around knowledge, dreams and possibilities, adding that she looks forward to sharing the experience with viewers.
Although Madhuri has appeared in numerous films and has also served as a judge on several dance reality shows, ‘Kon Honar Crorepati’ marks her return to television hosting after a 24-year gap.
A New Host for a Popular Quiz Show
‘Kon Honar Crorepati’ first premiered in 2013 and has previously been hosted by personalities including Sachin Khedekar, Swapnil Joshi and Nagraj Manjule.
Madhuri will now take over as host, bringing her own personality and presentation style to the established quiz format.
During the show, she will interact with contestants, hear about their personal journeys and support them as they attempt to answer challenging questions.
The programme aims to go beyond a conventional question-and-answer format by highlighting knowledge, aspirations and inspiring personal stories.
‘Kon Honar Crorepati’ will air on Sony Marathi and will also be available for online viewing on SonyLIV. The official premiere date for the new season has not yet been announced.
