Luxury helicopter service cuts travel time between Islamabad and Nathiagali

ISLAMABAD: A luxury helicopter service has been launched linking Islamabad with Nathiagali, offering travelers a significantly faster alternative to the road journey to one of Pakistan’s most visited hill destinations.

The service reduces travel time from the usual two to three hours by road to an approximately 30-minute flight, providing aerial views of the Galyat region’s valleys and forested hills. The launch reflects growing interest in premium and experience-led travel options, particularly for visitors seeking time efficiency and privacy.

Operated by Baron Aviation in collaboration with DoubleTree by Hilton Nathiagali, the service is designed for high-end tourists and small private groups rather than mass transport.

According to the operators, the helicopter can carry up to six passengers and is offered as a one-hour round-trip package priced at $1,050 per person. The service positions itself as a niche option within Pakistan’s tourism sector, where demand for exclusive and scenic travel experiences has been gradually expanding.

Tourism observers say such services complement existing road-based infrastructure by adding a premium access route to popular northern destinations, rather than replacing conventional travel. Nathiagali, located in the Galyat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is known for its cooler climate, mountain scenery, and proximity to hiking trails and viewpoints.

Baron Aviation operates in Pakistan’s private aviation market and has been expanding charter-based travel services focused on flexibility, speed, and customized routes, while DoubleTree by Hilton Nathiagali is widely regarded as an upscale mountain resort catering to domestic and international visitors.
