MUZAFFARABAD: Ex Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhary Ibrahim Zia has said that
Indian Supreme Court decision of 11th December is against law, justice, human rights and termed it a political revenge of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
According to the details, he said that the decision of Supreme Court of India on December 11 regarding the state of Jammu and Kashmir is a clear violation of law, saying that 5-member so-called constitutional bench has raised many questions about the fairness of the judicial system.
He said that the suspension of Article 370 by the judges of the Indian Supreme Court is against the law and violation of international regulations because the decision was not made according to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
“The provisional status of Kashmir shall remain intact in any case which cannot be unilaterally overridden by any difference between the two countries”, Zia maintained.
Speakers said that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, as the Prime Minister of the Indian government, had promised the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir that Kashmiris would decide their future through the right of self-determination.
“A court or any other body has no power to terminate unilaterally”, adding that the United Nations Security Council, India and Pakistan are bound to establish a free, fair and impartial referendum in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speakers also rejected all the illegal and unilateral measures taken by the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party government in the Indian Lok Sabha on August 5, 2019, saying that India has illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir so it has no right to do unilateral action.
“The world knows that India is conspiring to change the disputed status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir through 1 million soldiers besides imposing worst black laws, which the Kashmiri people have been rejecting with an unprecedented struggle”, speakers added.
“The Indian Supreme Court bench showed bias and partiality while hearing the case related to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. They have violated law and justice in the decision regarding the state of Jammu and Kashmir on December 11.”, they added.
Executive Director of legal forum for Kashmir Nasir Qadri advocate, Nasir Masood, Shaukat Aziz, Muhammad Noor Ullah Qureshi, Pervaiz Mughal, Syed Abdul Sammad, Mehtab Hameed and other lawyers were also present on the occasion.
