LAHORE: Kot Lakhpat police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman after allegedly luring her under the pretext of providing spiritual healing.
According to a police spokesperson, the suspect, identified as Shakeel, had allegedly been visiting the woman’s home in the Ghaziabad area for nearly two years on the pretext of performing spiritual rituals.
Police allege that Shakeel used the guise of spiritual healing to gain the woman’s trust before sexually assaulting her. He was also accused of attempting to mislead other members of the family.
Suspect Arrested After Police Investigation
Police said the suspect was traced to Ghaziabad and arrested following an investigation into the complaint.
A case has been registered against Shakeel, while the investigation has been handed over to the Gender Cell for further proceedings.
SP Model Town Asad Ali said individuals involved in exploiting women would not be given any concession and assured that legal action would be taken against those responsible.
The allegations remain subject to investigation and due legal process.
