LAHORE: A judicial inquiry into the deaths of two women while in the custody of Township police has found no evidence of torture, according to the inquiry report submitted to the District and Sessions Judge.
The inquiry was conducted under Section 176 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) by Judicial Magistrate Kamran Karamat, who examined the circumstances surrounding the deaths and personally inspected the bodies of both women.
Inquiry Finds No Signs of Torture
According to the report, no evidence of physical torture was found during the inquiry. It also stated that both women had been brought to the hospital after they were already dead.
The findings address allegations of torture while the women were in police custody, but the inquiry has not established the final cause of death.
Post-Mortem and Forensic Reports Awaited
The inquiry report directed the Station House Officer (SHO) of Township police station to arrange post-mortem examinations of both women.
The report stated that the final cause of death can be determined after reviewing the post-mortem and forensic reports.
Judicial Magistrate Kamran Karamat has submitted the completed inquiry report to the District and Sessions Judge for further proceedings.
