LAHORE: Registration for the manufacture of kite-flying materials for Basant 2027 in Lahore will begin on September 5, according to Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (retd) Muhammad Ali Ijaz.
The district administration has made permits mandatory for the production of kite-flying materials across Lahore. Only individuals issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) will be allowed to manufacture approved materials under the regulations.
Strict Monitoring of Kite Material
The deputy commissioner said administrative teams will closely monitor the production of approved kite-flying materials across the city.
Only permitted kite sizes and approved materials will be allowed. The regulations also specify the use of cotton string, with prohibited types of kite string barred from production and use.
Muhammad Ali Ijaz said the measures are intended to support a safe Basant while maintaining the traditional character of the festival.
Registration Process Starts September 5
According to the DC Lahore, registration for manufacturers of Basant-related materials will officially open on September 5 through the Basant Portal 2027.
The administration said the registration and monitoring system will help ensure that kite-making remains within the approved safety framework.
Officials emphasized that the use of approved kite sizes and cotton string will be central to efforts to make Basant activities safer in Lahore.
