KSrelief distributes food packages to 8,500 families in Punjab under food security project

ISLAMABAD: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre has completed the distribution of food packages to 8,500 families in Punjab under the final phase of its Food Security Support Project in Pakistan.

The initiative aimed to support food-insecure households, particularly those affected by recent floods, by providing essential food supplies across multiple districts in the province.

According to officials, a total of 8,500 food packages, each weighing 97 kilograms, were distributed in 10 districts, including Multan, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalnagar, Rajanpur, Nankana Sahib, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan, Chiniot and Toba Tek Singh.

Each package included 80 kilograms of flour, five litres of cooking oil, five kilograms of sugar, five kilograms of dal chana, and two kilograms of dates to meet basic nutritional needs.

The distribution was carried out with the support of the National Disaster Management Authority, Provincial Disaster Management Authority, local district administrations, and implementing partners including Hayat Foundation and Peace and Development Organization.

Officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen food security and provide timely humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities across Pakistan.
