MARDAN: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Revenue and Estate Tariq Mahmood Aryani conducted a surprise inspection of Revenue Department offices and the Service Delivery Center (SDC) in Takht Bhai, directing officials to expedite pending cases, improve public service delivery, and take immediate action against corruption.
During the visit, the minister reviewed public complaints, inspected revenue records, and assessed office operations. He expressed concern over delays, administrative inefficiencies, and slow service delivery, warning that negligence or unnecessary delays in resolving citizens’ revenue-related matters would not be tolerated.
Minister Orders Swift Resolution of Public Complaints
Aryani instructed revenue officials to resolve public grievances on a priority basis and ensure citizens are not forced to make repeated visits to government offices for routine services.
He warned that strict departmental action would be taken against officials found negligent in the discharge of their duties.
Review Meeting With Local Administration
During the inspection, the minister met Assistant Commissioner Alina Shakeel and Additional Assistant Commissioners Muniza and Sardar Bahram to review pending revenue cases, administrative issues, and public complaints.
He directed officers to speed up the disposal of pending cases and immediately report any official involved in corruption or misuse of authority so that legal and departmental proceedings could be initiated.
Revenue Reforms to Improve Transparency
Speaking to journalists during a visit to the Takht Bhai Press Club, Aryani said the Revenue Department had inherited longstanding administrative challenges that affected public service delivery.
He said the provincial government is implementing reforms to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency, including the introduction of online systems for land mutation (Intiqal), property registration, and property transactions for overseas Pakistanis.
According to the minister, the digital reforms are expected to reduce processing times and limit opportunities for corruption.
Public Asked to Report Illegal Demands
Aryani urged citizens to remain vigilant and said Patwaris are not authorized to charge separate fees for routine fieldwork.
He advised the public not to pay any amount beyond the officially prescribed government fee for mutation or other revenue services and to report any demand for illegal payments so that strict action can be taken.
Reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to reform, the minister said there would be zero tolerance for corruption, maladministration, or negligence within the Revenue Department.
