Mirpur: The Additional District Magistrate of Mirpur, Raja Umar Tariq, has imposed a ban on kite flying across the district under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) due to the risks and accidents associated with the activity during the spring season.
According to details, the onset of spring sees an increase in kite flying activities in Mirpur district. This often leads to accidents such as injuries caused by kite strings and other related incidents, posing a threat to public safety. The involvement of the public, especially the youth, in such activities risks significant loss of life.
To ensure public safety, the sale and flying of kites have been strictly prohibited. In light of these circumstances, Raja Umar Tariq, the Additional District Magistrate of Mirpur, has enforced a ban under Section 144 of the CrPC. Under this order, no individual or group is allowed to buy, sell, or engage in kite flying.
Anyone found violating this ban will face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). This restriction will remain in effect for two months.
