UPPER DIR: Kickboxing competitions held as part of the ongoing Azadi Martial Arts Championship 2026 have concluded at the Dir Sports Complex, with athletes from across the district showcasing their skills and competitive spirit.
The event was organised in collaboration with the District Administration Upper Dir and the District Sports Office Upper Dir as part of celebrations marking Pakistan’s Independence Day.
Players from different parts of the district participated in the kickboxing competitions with enthusiasm and delivered strong performances throughout the event.
Hijaz Fighting Club secured the winning position, while Usman Martial Arts Academy finished as runner-up.
The closing ceremony was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance & Planning Dr Sadiq Ali, District Planning Officer Meraj Gul and District Sports Officer Sadiqullah Khan.
The distinguished guests distributed medals, shields and cash prizes among the players and teams who secured top positions. They also praised the participants for their dedication and performances.
The championship was organised to celebrate Independence Day through healthy sporting activities while promoting patriotism, discipline and positive competition among young people.
The initiative also aimed to provide talented youth with opportunities to demonstrate their abilities and pursue their sporting potential.
The organisers congratulated all winning and participating athletes on their performances and encouraged young people to continue taking part in sports activities.
