Kazakh Deputy PM Arrives in Islamabad for Two-Day Visit

ISLAMABAD: Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu arrived in Islamabad on Monday for a two-day official visit. His trip seeks to strengthen Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations, especially in trade, investment, and regional cooperation.

High-Level Delegation

Additional Secretary West Asia Syed Ali Asad Gillani, along with senior officials, welcomed Nurtleu at the airport. He brought a 13-member delegation, including Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport. The strong delegation highlights Kazakhstan’s commitment to deeper engagement with Pakistan.

Bilateral Talks and Meetings

During the visit, Nurtleu will meet Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar for one-on-one talks. Afterward, both sides will hold delegation-level discussions.

These talks will prepare for the upcoming Presidential visit from Kazakhstan. They will also cover the entire range of bilateral cooperation. In particular, leaders will focus on trade, investment, agriculture, education, culture, and tourism. Moreover, they will discuss regional connectivity, logistics, and joint action at multilateral forums.

Joint Working Groups

On the sidelines, the two countries will hold meetings of Joint Working Groups on Agriculture and IT. These sessions aim to identify new opportunities in food security and digital innovation. Therefore, they represent concrete steps toward practical cooperation.

Calls on Leadership

Nurtleu will also call on the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan. These meetings will strengthen leadership-level engagement and allow both sides to address emerging regional challenges.

Strengthening Pakistan-Kazakhstan Ties

The Foreign Office noted that the visit will cement Pakistan-Kazakhstan ties. It will also deepen cooperation in diverse fields, ultimately benefiting the people of both nations.

Overall, the trip demonstrates a renewed push for regional partnerships. It signals growing cooperation between Islamabad and Astana, marking another step toward stronger Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations.
