Police in Karachi have detained a man accused of assaulting a delivery rider following a road dispute in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area, authorities said.
According to police, the suspect was taken into custody during a raid in the Badr Commercial area of DHA. Officers also seized the vehicle allegedly used in the incident after receiving information that the suspect was attempting to leave the city.
Road Dispute Escalated Into Assault
The incident reportedly began after a minor collision between a car and a motorcycle in Karachi’s DHA.
Police said the argument escalated when the car driver allegedly attacked the food delivery rider. Video footage of the incident circulated on social media, drawing widespread public attention.
Motorcycle Damaged During Incident
According to reports, the suspect allegedly used a hockey stick to strike the rider’s motorcycle, causing significant damage.
Witnesses said the driver then chased the delivery rider while carrying the hockey stick and allegedly issued threats during the confrontation.
Investigation Underway
The affected rider has sought legal action against the suspect.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and that further legal proceedings will be carried out in accordance with the law.
