her song Chuttamalle from Devara: Part 1, describing it as a serious example of technology being misused against women.
A deepfake version of the song has been circulating on social media platform X in recent days. The original Chuttamalle song features Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR, while the altered version has been digitally manipulated using artificial intelligence.
In a detailed statement, Janhvi said presenting a woman in an objectionable manner without her consent and distributing fabricated or manipulated content is deeply distressing and a violation of her personal boundaries.
She described the misuse of technology to portray women in such a manner as extremely disturbing and said it comes dangerously close to sexual abuse.
Janhvi said almost every woman in the entertainment industry has faced some form of similar situation, while women around the world are increasingly becoming targets of such incidents.
The actress stressed that consent, choice and respect for a woman’s body should be fundamental human values. She said it was unfortunate that these basic principles are still treated as complicated issues when they should not be.
Janhvi Kapoor further emphasized that every woman’s personal boundaries must be respected under all circumstances and that respect for those boundaries should never be linked to what a woman chooses to wear.
