Rawalpindi, Jan 10 — Pakistan’s security forces killed 11 militants in two separate intelligence-based operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to ISPR, the operations were carried out on January 8 following reports about the presence of militants affiliated with what the military described as an Indian proxy group, Fitna Al Khwarij.

In the first operation, security forces conducted an intelligence-based raid in North Waziristan district. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the militant hideout, leading to an intense exchange of fire in which six militants were killed, ISPR said.

In a separate joint intelligence-based operation, police and security forces targeted a militant location in Kurram district. Five militants were neutralised during the ensuing firefight, the statement added.

ISPR said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist activities, including attacks against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and targeted killings of civilians.

The military’s media wing said sanitisation operations are ongoing in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants. It reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to continuing their counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

“The resolve of the state remains unwavering to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country,” the statement concluded.
