TEHRAN, November 2, 2026: Iran has said it has no hostility towards Gulf countries but warned that it would respond if their territory or facilities were used to launch attacks against it, as diplomatic efforts continue in Qatar to end the US-Israeli war.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran supported lasting regional security and cooperation with neighbouring countries but would not remain silent if its sovereignty or the safety of its citizens were threatened.

Baghaei said some Gulf states had placed excessive reliance on the US military presence in the region, while others were actively cooperating with Washington.

He urged neighbouring governments to prevent their territory and facilities from being used against Iran, stressing that regional confidence-building must be a two-way process.

Meanwhile, Iran’s negotiating delegation departed Doha on Sunday after three days of discussions with mediators aimed at reaching an agreement to end the conflict.

According to Reuters, an official familiar with the negotiations said the delegation’s departure was not linked to any disagreement or difficulty in the talks.

The official said the discussions focused on securing an agreement to end the ongoing war involving Iran, the United States and Israel.

The diplomatic efforts come amid concerns that regional hostilities could intensify following the US midterm elections scheduled for November 3.

Iran’s latest statement signals its willingness to maintain cooperative relations with Gulf neighbours while making clear that Tehran expects assurances that their territory will not be used for military action against it.
