Tehran — April 04, 2026: Iran has said that sections of the US media are misrepresenting its position, while expressing appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and signaling openness to talks in Islamabad aimed at ending the ongoing conflict.

In a post shared on social media, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the country has “never refused” to pursue dialogue in Pakistan and remains focused on achieving a “conclusive and lasting end” to what he described as an imposed war.

The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing efforts to explore diplomatic solutions. Pakistan has been actively engaged in facilitating dialogue and has emerged as a potential venue for negotiations.

Focus on negotiated outcome

The foreign minister emphasized that Iran’s priority is a durable resolution, stating that the terms of any engagement must ensure a lasting end to hostilities.

The statement indicates that while diplomatic channels remain open, Tehran is seeking clarity on the framework of any potential agreement.

Pakistan’s diplomatic role
