08 Sept(Web Desk): Instagram has introduced an AI Song Creator feature in direct messages that allows users to turn short ideas, phrases or lyrics into AI-generated songs that can be shared directly in chats.
The feature uses Meta AI to create a track after users enter a prompt and choose a music style, adding another generative AI tool to Instagram’s messaging experience. Meta already allows users to access its AI assistant through Instagram DMs for creative tasks including writing and media generation.
How Instagram’s AI Song Creator Works
Users who have access to the feature can open a direct message, select the AI Song Creator option from the available chat tools and enter an idea, sentence or set of lyrics.
They can then choose a preferred music style before Meta AI generates the song.
The finished track can be shared with friends inside the same Instagram conversation, making the tool primarily geared toward entertainment and social interaction.
Possible uses include creating personalized birthday songs, turning inside jokes into music or experimenting with short creative ideas.
Feature May Not Be Available to Everyone Yet
Availability can vary between users as Instagram rolls out new AI features gradually across accounts and markets.
Users who do not see the option can check whether they are running the latest version of Instagram and look again as availability expands.
Meta AI is already integrated across Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp, where it supports a range of generative functions including writing, image creation and other creative tasks.
