The initial post-mortem report of an 18-year-old girl who died during treatment at a hospital in Jhang has found no evidence of physical torture or sexual assault, according to hospital officials.
The case has attracted public attention after the teenager was allegedly left unconscious at a private hospital by several individuals who later left the premises. The girl subsequently died while receiving medical treatment.
Hospital authorities said the preliminary post-mortem examination did not reveal signs of violence or sexual abuse. However, samples have been sent to a forensic laboratory in Lahore to determine the exact cause of death.
According to the report, the 18-year-old was a diabetic patient and had been using insulin for the past five years. Officials said she was unconscious when she was brought to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
Forensic Analysis Pending
Authorities said the final conclusions regarding the cause of death will depend on the results of forensic testing currently underway.
Police confirmed that four individuals who allegedly left the girl at the private hospital in an unconscious condition are in custody and are being questioned as part of the investigation.
The case was initially reported after the victim’s father alleged that his daughter had been abducted and sexually assaulted. However, investigators say the inquiry remains ongoing and that forensic findings will play a key role in determining the circumstances surrounding her death.
Officials have urged caution until the final medical and forensic reports are completed.
