PTI leader and lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat was denied entry to Adiala jail on Thursday to meet party founder Imran Khan. The prison authorities informed Marwat that Khan no longer recognized him as his legal representative. According to jail officials, the PTI founder issued clear instructions barring Marwat from entering the jail and also issued a written statement to that effect. Marwat arrived at gate no. 5 prison, but the authorities stopped him and refused. The administration told Marwat that Imran Khan no longer recognized him as his lawyer; therefore he could not be allowed to enter the prison to meet him. According to the jail administration, the PTI founder was informed when Marwat arrived at Adiala jail to meet him, adding that Imran Khan had given clear instructions that Marwat was not his lawyer. The reason for this sudden decision remains unclear.
