Major General Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), met Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on February 2, 2026.

The meeting focused on regional security dynamics and strengthening cooperation in counter-terrorism. Both sides discussed collaborative approaches to address terrorism and extremism, including intelligence sharing and capacity building among IMCTC member states.

During the interaction, the army chief acknowledged the role of Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition in fostering coordinated counter-terrorism efforts across the Islamic world. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting joint initiatives aimed at regional stability.

Major General Al-Moghedi appreciated Pakistan’s contributions and sacrifices in counter-terrorism operations and praised the professionalism of its armed forces. The meeting concluded with both sides expressing resolve to further strengthen institutional cooperation.

Officials said an IMCTC delegation is visiting Pakistan from February 2 to 6 to conduct a week-long training programme at the National University of Sciences and Technology on the reintegration and rehabilitation of extremist elements.
