ISLAMABAD: President and Acting Rector of the International Islamic University Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, visited Jamia Salfia Islamabad on Monday, where he met students, toured academic facilities and stressed the importance of knowledge in shaping society.
The visit took place at the seminary’s campus in Sector H-8 and focused on academic engagement, institutional exchange and the role of Islamic education in personal and social development.
Prof. Alahmed was received by Jamia Salfia Islamabad head Hafiz Sheikh Muhammad Shafiq and members of the faculty.
Deputy Sheikh-ul-Hadith Dr. Tahir Mahmood welcomed the IIUI president and accompanied him during a detailed tour of the institution.
IIUI President Meets Students
During the visit, Prof. Alahmed attended students’ classes and held question-and-answer sessions with them.
He also visited classes for female students and asked them academic questions as part of the interaction.
Students who answered correctly were awarded cash prizes by the IIUI president.
Prof. Alahmed later toured the seminary’s library and Al Athar Studio, where he was briefed on the institution’s educational and media-related activities.
Knowledge Linked With Positive Social Change
A reception was held in Prof. Alahmed’s honour at the seminary’s central mosque following the tour.
Dr. Tahir Mahmood delivered a welcome address and highlighted the significance of the visit for the institution’s students and faculty.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Alahmed spoke about the importance of knowledge and the role of Islamic teachings in everyday life.
He said the pursuit of education should help bring positive change in society in accordance with Islamic principles.
Shield and Book Presented
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Hafiz Sheikh Muhammad Shafiq presented a commemorative shield to Prof. Alahmed.
Jamia Salfia’s Sheikh-ul-Hadith, Dr. Abdul Basit Faheem, also presented him with a copy of his book, Al Qawa’id al Tafsiriyyah ‘ind al Imam Ibn Qayyim al Jawziyyah.
The visit highlighted growing academic engagement between IIUI and religious educational institutions in Islamabad.
