Currently there is no good news after the economic and political situation in the country but the good news from the world of sports is that the cricket champion trophy will be played in Pakistan. The cricket lovers will see internationally renowned players in the country.
In that regard there were some rumors that the cricket tournament named as Mini World Cup might be shifted from Pakistan because the international players might avoid coming here due to the politics of protests and roundup going on in the country? However, the Chief Executive of ICC has made it clear that there is no plan to move the Champions Trophy from Pakistan but that tournament will be held here as per the schedule. It may be recalled that ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice has said that ICC continues to make regular visits to its member countries including Pakistan to ensure successful hosting of events.
The Chief Executive of the International Cricket Council has confirmed that there is currently no plan to move the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 from Pakistan. Geoff Allardice has assured that any team playing in the tournament No hesitation, all teams committed to playing in Pakistan Despite previous challenges. Allardice stressed that all participating teams are ready to play in Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, known as a “Mini World Cup”. The 2023 ODI World Cup has been named as one of the 8 elite teams which include India, Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, Bangladesh and Afghanistan based on their performance. Pakistan is currently the defending champion of the Champions Trophy as under the leadership of former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, the Pakistan cricket team won the Champions Trophy in England in 2017 by defeating arch-rivals India in the final.
It should be remembered that the tournament will be held after eight years for which Pakistan is making full preparations and this tournament will definitely bring happiness in the country and after the fast-paced politics in the country. Defiantly the fans will enjoy their favorite game. The good news is that the ICC has indicated that the said tournament will be played in Pakistan. It is hoped that the ICC and the federal government will take the best steps to make the said tournament a success story, so that the international players could feel better when they come to Pakistan and do not face any difficulty in holding more big tournaments in country in future.
Unfortunately after the acts of terrorism in the country during the last two decades the fans were longing for sports but now the arrival of teams from foreign countries has started and the visit of Bangladesh to Pakistan has made the country’s image soft. This will at least raise the morale of other teams to visit Pakistan.
On the other hand there is a need to pay full attention to the preparations of the Pakistan cricket team. It is to be remembered that after the poor performance of the team in the ICC World Cup, the Shaheen’s morale has fallen considerably after the historic defeat of Bangladesh in Test cricket by 2-0. Perhaps there are differences in the squad as after losing to weak teams in the World Cup, the national team did not show the ideal synergy against Bangladesh in Test cricket including star batsmen Babar Azam and Rizwan.
As the player’s performance has been seen quite poor due to which the team is seen run-down. Therefore the PCB chairman and his management will have to take emergency measures to get the team out of this unfortunate situation, otherwise it will be difficult for the Pakistan team to defend the champion trophy.
It is recognized that PCB will pay full attention to the team selection for the Champions Trophy so that the right of any eligible player cannot be lost as a result of which the national cricket team can perform better in the Champions Trophy.
