ISLAMABAD: Punjab Assembly member Hina Parvez Butt has called for action over a fake AI-generated video featuring Pakistani TikToker and actress Jannat Mirza, raising concerns about the unauthorised use of women’s images and faces.
The video circulating on social media appears to show Jannat Mirza with an unidentified man. Jannat responded to the video through an Instagram Story, saying that creating such content using someone’s face without permission was a serious concern.
She said that while her face had been used in this case, the same could happen to other women, potentially affecting their privacy and dignity.
Jannat also highlighted the risks faced by women who are not active on social media, saying their photographs could potentially be misused without their knowledge.
Hina Parvez Butt Calls for Action
Commenting on the issue, Hina Parvez Butt said artificial intelligence has become an important technology, but its misuse should not become a means of harming a person’s dignity, privacy or reputation.
She described the unauthorised use of women’s photographs and faces as concerning and called on relevant authorities to take effective action against such incidents.
Hina also urged victims not to treat such content as a harmless online matter and advised them to report it through appropriate channels.
She recommended preserving screenshots or the original link as evidence while avoiding further circulation of the material.
The issue has renewed discussion around AI-generated content, digital privacy and the misuse of personal images on social media.
