The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has constituted a committee to review ongoing administrative, financial, and human resource issues at Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology following repeated complaints and protests by faculty members in Karachi.

According to the notification issued on the directives of HEC Chairman Dr. Niaz Ahmed, the committee will examine governance concerns, financial management, and administrative affairs of the university, along with follow-up on earlier audit findings.

The move comes amid continued concerns regarding institutional governance and staff-related grievances at the university, prompting renewed scrutiny of its operational structure.

The committee includes officials from the HEC and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, including Adviser IT Nazir Hussain, Joint Secretaries Aftab Rasheed and Hamid Niazi, and Assistant Director Coordination Hammad Bin Saif.

Officials said the committee will review whether previously identified issues persist or have improved and will submit a detailed report within 30 days, along with recommendations for corrective action.
