A popular medicine used by heart patients has been declared substandard in Lahore, prompting authorities to order the recall of nine specific batches of Loplet Plus.

The Drug Control Wing has directed pharmacies, medical stores and hospitals to immediately stop supplying the affected batches following quality concerns identified by the Drug Testing Laboratory.

According to the laboratory, adulteration was detected in the specified batches of Loplet Plus. Authorities have ordered that the affected batches be withdrawn from the market.

Citizens have also been advised to immediately stop using the affected batches of the medicine due to the potential health risks associated with substandard or adulterated medication.

The affected batches reportedly include tablets with expiry dates extending through January and February 2028.

Authorities have urged pharmacies, medical stores and healthcare facilities to ensure that the specified batches are removed from circulation and not dispensed to patients.

Patients who are currently taking Loplet Plus should check their medicine packaging against the affected batch details and consult their doctor or pharmacist before making any changes to their prescribed treatment.
