Three women lacrosse players from Hazara selected for Asian championship

ABBOTTABAD: Three women lacrosse players from Pakistan’s Hazara region have been selected to represent the country at the upcoming Asian Lacrosse Championship, marking a significant milestone for women’s participation in the sport.

According to the Pakistan Lacrosse Federation, Muqaddas Tariq, Fizza Zahir, and Momina Tariq earned their places in the national squad following performance-based selections and intensive national training camps. Their inclusion places them among Pakistan’s top women athletes competing at the continental level.

Officials said the selection reflects the players’ technical ability, discipline, and consistent performance, while also highlighting the gradual growth of women’s lacrosse in Pakistan. The championship will bring together leading teams from across Asia, offering Pakistani players an opportunity to compete at a high international standard.

The federation said the achievement also underlines the sporting potential of the Hazara region, which has produced several athletes who have gone on to represent Pakistan at national and international events.
