ISLAMABAD, August 10, 2026: Pakistan will begin receiving Hajj 2027 applications and the first instalment of Hajj payments from August 17, while the second instalment will be collected in October, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf has announced.
The minister said the Hajj application system has been fully digitalised, allowing intending pilgrims to submit applications from home and reducing the need for lengthy visits and queues at banks.
According to the minister, around 400,000 registered intending pilgrims will be eligible to submit applications for Hajj 2027.
He said a private bank has been selected as an official partner for receiving Hajj applications and payments, with a Hajj services agreement also being finalised.
Hajj 2027 Payment Schedule
Under the announced schedule, applications and the first instalment will be accepted from August 17, while intending pilgrims will be required to deposit the second instalment in October.
The minister said the digital system had been designed to make the application and payment process more convenient, secure and accessible for pilgrims across Pakistan.
Government Hajj Quota
Sardar Muhammad Yousuf said the government Hajj scheme has a total quota of 107,526 pilgrims, including 30,000 places allocated for the short Hajj package.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, he said, adding that the application process will close once the available quota has been filled.
Private Hajj Payments Through Pak Hajj App
The minister said pilgrims opting for the private Hajj scheme would be able to select their operator and make payments through the government’s official Pak Hajj App.
He advised intending pilgrims not to make payments directly to private Hajj operators and instead use the officially designated payment mechanism.
A representative of the partner bank said Hajj-related services would be provided through more than 1,700 branches across the country, with no additional charges imposed on pilgrims under the Islamic banking arrangement.
The digitalisation of Hajj applications, payments and private operator selection is aimed at streamlining the process and providing intending pilgrims with easier access to Hajj services ahead of Hajj 2027.
