A fully online registration system introduced for Hajj 2027 has received a strong response from pilgrims, with more than 203,000 applicants completing the process within the first 11 days, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
The digital platform, designed to streamline and modernize the Hajj application process, has enabled applicants to register from home through a web portal and mobile application. Officials say the system aims to improve transparency, accessibility, and efficiency in managing Hajj applications in Pakistan.
According to ministry data, 203,722 people registered during the initial phase, including over 180,000 through the web portal and around 24,000 via the mobile app. Of the total, more than 154,000 applicants selected the government Hajj scheme, while approximately 49,000 opted for private operators.
Province-wise figures show Punjab leading with around 95,000 registrations, followed by Sindh with 63,000, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 28,000, Islamabad with 9,000, Balochistan with 5,500, Azad Kashmir with 1,200, and Gilgit-Baltistan with 600 applicants.
The ministry added that some applicants also expressed interest in performing Hajj in future years, including 2028, 2029, and 2030.
Authorities have advised applicants to form family groups during registration, stating that only immediate family members or Mahram relatives can be included under a single group.
