Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that the government is committed to provide equal opportunities to all communities living in Pakistan to achieve success in various fields of life while protecting human rights.
Speaking at a ceremony to mark International Human Rights Day here, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to uphold and protect the fundamental causes of human rights, while empowering communities in need of state protection. difficult situation.
He said that all communities living in Pakistan have equal rights.
“This is our priority and the government is committed to providing equal opportunities for all,” he said.
About 1,400 years ago, Islam and its Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) defined the contours of basic human rights and human equality, added founder Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in his historic speech. On August 11, he emphasized the equal rights of all citizens, regardless of their creed, religion or belief.
The Prime Minister said today that they will do more in this direction to stand proudly in front of the nation, the generation and the entire humanity.
“There is a long way to go,” he said, adding that it must be done through collective efforts; must solve the issues and pave the way for future generations and to meet the needs of the people of the country.
The Prime Minister reminded that although he has no constitutional responsibilities as Chief Minister of Punjab, he supports the people of other provinces through various educational and financial initiatives.
During his tenure as the Chief Minister, he mentioned steps that included the Punjab Endowment Fund, giving scholarships and laptops, all provinces, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
He also highlighted the establishment of an anti-violence center in Multan, the Zaiwer-e-Taleem program with scholarships in South Punjab and an initiative to stop child labor in brick kilns. According to him, about 90,000 children were later enrolled in school to make brick ovens.
The Prime Minister recently said that the federal government is sending 1,000 students from across the country including Gilgit-Baltistan to China for higher education and training.
He also assured the law minister to discuss the remaining issues of Pakistan with its counterpart in Malaysia.
The Prime Minister appreciates the efforts of the Minister of Law and other stakeholders to promote and protect human rights.
In his speech, the Minister of Law, Justice and Human Rights, Azam Nazeer Tarar said that on December 10, 1948, he adopted the Declaration of Human Rights, which confirmed that there should be no discrimination among people in the world.
He said that almost all the provisions of the Universal Declaration are based on the teachings of Muhammad alaihis salaam and are also included in the constitution of Pakistan.
The minister reiterated his commitment to protect basic human rights and eliminate social inequality and said that everyone should carry out this mission.
He said that the Ministry of Human Rights is working with all provincial authorities and Gilgit Baltistan on the goals set for women’s rights.
He mentioned the human rights achievements of his ministry, the work of several commissions such as Zainab Waspada, Response and Recovery, Legal Aid and Justice Agency, Awaz Program, 24/7 Legal Help Desk and Human Rights. rights, status of women, etc.
