Bollywood actor Govinda’s rumoured girlfriend, actress Komal Rani Swarankar, has responded to recent comments by his wife, Sunita Ahuja, rejecting suggestions that she is responsible for problems in the couple’s marriage.
A day after Sunita’s remarks, Komal Rani addressed the matter in an Instagram Story and questioned why private family issues were being discussed publicly. She said that a home that is already “broken” cannot be broken by another person.
Komal also alleged that a man could be kept under prolonged mental pressure, prevented from working and isolated from others. She questioned whether such behaviour could be considered that of a loyal wife and suggested that making private disagreements public could be an attempt to gain sympathy.
She also asked Sunita not to use her name and used strong language while addressing the controversy.
Sunita, speaking to reporters during a visit to the Dakshineswar Kali Temple in Kolkata on Friday, said she was going through a difficult period and appealed to women and young people for their support. She also said that her home was falling apart without any apparent reason.
The controversy follows speculation surrounding Govinda and Komal Rani after they were seen together during a visit to Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja. Govinda had previously said that even if there was an affair, it was a personal matter involving him and not something that concerned others.
The statements have added to public discussion surrounding Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s marriage, with the individuals involved offering differing accounts of the situation.
