What Drives Gold Prices in Pakistan?
Gold prices in Pakistan generally respond to a combination of international bullion rates and movements in the rupee-dollar exchange rate.
Changes in global demand, expectations surrounding interest rates, geopolitical uncertainty and investor demand for safe-haven assets can also influence international gold prices and eventually feed into domestic rates.
For Pakistani consumers, movements in the rupee can further amplify or offset changes in international bullion prices.
As a result, local gold prices can change even when movements in the international market appear relatively modest.
Will Gold Prices Rise Further?
The latest increase puts attention back on international bullion and currency markets after the two-day pause.
Traders, investors and consumers will be watching global gold prices and the rupee-dollar exchange rate to see whether the precious metal extends its gains or experiences another correction in the coming sessions.
For people planning to buy jewellery or invest in bullion, rates can vary during the trading day and may also differ slightly between cities and individual dealers.
The prices in this report reflect the gold and silver rates reported for Monday, August 17, 2026, and may change with subsequent market movements.
