KARACHI: A school in Karachi’s Soldier Bazaar area is providing free education, speech therapy and specialised training to children with autism, helping them develop their abilities and participate more actively in society.
According to an ARY News report, the private school welcomes children from different parts of the city and offers educational support alongside extracurricular activities tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
The school focuses on encouraging children to learn while providing opportunities for personal development through structured activities, play and social interaction.
Individual Attention and Consistent Support
According to the school administration, patience and consistency are essential when supporting children with autism. Some children may need additional time and individualised assistance to become comfortable with routines and everyday activities.
Alongside classroom learning, the school gives importance to extracurricular activities that support children’s cognitive, social and physical development.
Staff members encourage the children to participate in games and other activities, allowing them to explore their interests and build confidence at their own pace.
Outdoor Activities Support Development
As part of its programme, the school takes children to the green surroundings of PMA House Garden, where they can participate in activities of their choice in an open environment.
The administration says positive behavioural changes have been observed during outdoor activities. Such opportunities can help children feel refreshed, explore their surroundings and develop greater independence in everyday tasks.
The initiative aims to provide children with autism access to education and developmental support according to their individual needs, while helping them build skills for greater participation in community life.
