The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has fined two milk shops and two tea vendors in Lower Dir following public complaints received by Deputy Commissioner Basharat Ahmad.

Acting on a complaint raised during an open public forum (Khuli Kachehri) in Samar Bagh, an inspection team from the authority’s Lower Dir office conducted checks across Tehsil Samar Bagh.

During the operation, milk samples were collected from shops in Kambat, Mayar, Samar Bagh and Munda and tested on the spot using a mobile laboratory.

Two milk shops were fined for adulterating milk with water. However, laboratory reports confirmed that no chemical adulteration was detected in any of the collected samples.

In response to a separate public complaint, the inspection team also fined two tea vendors at Mayar Mela.

The action followed complaints raised by local residents and aimed to address food quality concerns through inspections and on-the-spot testing.
