TIMERGARA — The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety & Halal Food Authority has collected water samples from the canteen of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Timergara and dispatched them to the state laboratory for testing, as part of a wider campaign to ensure safe food and water for patients and attendants.

The operation, carried out under the directives of Director General Wasif Saeed, also included inspections of food businesses across Tehsil Timergara. Officials said the campaign aims to safeguard public health by monitoring hygiene standards and enforcing food safety laws.

During inspections, one restaurant was fined for poor hygiene conditions, while several owners were instructed to strictly follow the authority’s standard operating procedures. Water used in food preparation at restaurants was also sampled and sent for laboratory analysis to verify safety at every stage of handling.

The authority further renewed expired licenses, issued new ones, and geo-tagged businesses to strengthen regulatory oversight. Officials noted that inspections and data collection will continue in the area to improve compliance and ensure the provision of quality food.
