FIFA has announced its official Team of the Tournament following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with newly crowned champions Spain contributing the highest number of players to the best XI.

The team, selected in a 4-3-3 formation, features standout performers from seven countries who impressed throughout the tournament held across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Spain lead with three selections

World champions Spain have three representatives in the Team of the Tournament.

Defenders Marc Cucurella and Pedro Porro were selected alongside midfielder Rodri, who played a key role in Spain’s successful World Cup campaign.

Messi, Mbappé and Haaland headline attack

Despite Argentina finishing as runners-up, captain Lionel Messi earned a place in the forward line, while defender Lisandro Martínez was also included in the squad.

France contributed three players to the team: Kylian Mbappé, Michael Olise, and defender Dayot Upamecano.

England midfielder Jude Bellingham secured a place in midfield after another impressive international tournament.

Norway striker Erling Haaland was named the team’s central forward, while Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha earned selection following a series of standout performances between the posts.
