ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) organized solidarity walks at its offices in Islamabad to observe Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, expressing support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and highlighting the importance of a peaceful resolution of the long-standing dispute.
The walks were held at the FGEHA Head Office in Sector G-10/4 and the G-13 Site Office, with participation from officers, employees, and members of the local community.
Participants carried Pakistan and Kashmir flags and reaffirmed their support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, while emphasizing the values of peace, justice, and human dignity.
FGEHA Highlights Kashmir Dispute’s Regional Significance
Addressing participants, speakers at the event said that certain moments in history become lasting symbols of collective memory due to their wider political and humanitarian impact.
They highlighted that August 5, 2019, marked a significant development in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, with implications for regional politics, diplomacy, and peace efforts in South Asia.
The participants said the Kashmir dispute remains an important unresolved issue in the region and stressed that its peaceful resolution requires dialogue and adherence to relevant international frameworks and principles.
Participants Reaffirm Support for Peaceful Resolution
During the walk, participants paid tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and reiterated Pakistan’s continued diplomatic, political, and moral support regarding the issue.
They emphasized that lasting peace and stability in South Asia require efforts focused on justice, tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful engagement.
The event concluded with participants expressing hope for continued efforts towards a peaceful and sustainable resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
