ISLAMABAD: Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited has secured first position in the Human Rights category at the United Nations Global Compact Network Pakistan Sustainability Awards 2026, recognising the company’s work on responsible business practices, inclusion and social impact.

The award highlights Fatima Fertilizer’s efforts to place employees, farmers and communities at the centre of its sustainability strategy while aligning its business operations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The company formally strengthened that approach in November 2024 when it became the first private-sector organisation in Pakistan to adopt the UNDP SDG Impact Framework.

Under the framework, Fatima Fertilizer has mapped its activities against 15 Sustainable Development Goals and 49 targets across eight priority impact areas.

Its sustainability initiatives cover farmer livelihoods, food security, employee wellbeing, women’s empowerment, education, skills development, environmental stewardship, climate action, resource efficiency, digital inclusion and responsible agricultural practices.

Rabel Sadozai, Director Marketing and Sales at Fatima Fertilizer, said the recognition reflected the company’s people-centred approach to sustainability.

“Being recognised in the Human Rights category is a meaningful affirmation of our people-centred approach to sustainability,” she said.

She added that the company remained focused on creating long-term value for employees, farmers and communities while advancing responsible business practices and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.

The company said its sustainability work contributes to several SDGs, including Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, and Responsible Consumption and Production.

The latest award adds to Fatima Fertilizer’s portfolio of national and international sustainability recognitions and reflects the company’s broader effort to integrate environmental and social considerations into its business strategy and long-term operations.
